The call to Christian ministry is one of the highest vocations and can, in fact, be considered more than a vocation, but it is also one of the most challenging ones. A minister's life and ministry can have a great impact on people's life. This makes it exciting but also very frightening because, on the other side, a minister's hypocrisy or fall can have a destructive effect on many lives. Moreover, stress, burnout, and depression are not uncommon among ministers. A failure to understand the basics of Christian ministry, such as what it is and what it entails, is probably one of the main reasons for such hazards.
