The Wake of the White Tiger

Diamond Shumshere is the author of this novel which is the greatest historical novel to date in the Nepali language. In Nepali the title is 'Seto Bagh' or 'The White Tiger'.

He is to be congratulated in that although he writes in some cases about people that he knew and about people who were his ancestors, he writes with fair-mindedness and with a shrewd recognition of the limitations that their socio-cultural environment had upon the characters in his novel.
