Nations are not just interrelated but are also interdependent today. People do n confine themselves within a national border amore. Cross-border movement peoples and goods have become a common occurrence. Studying abro transnational commercial activities, foreign enloyment and international migrat are a few examples of what has become routine these days. Consequently, this tre has led to the rise of problems involving property, matrimonial causes, status and c of children, protection of vulnerable adults, contract, tort, and other civil a commercial matters requiring rules on jurisdiction, applicable law and recognition foreign judgments. In such a situation, the only solution is private international law
Nepal has ratified a dozen UN Human Rights Conventions and adopted the principl "monism" In treaty matters. However, it is yet to become a party to any of the pri international law related Hague Conventions. It is crucial that this COL domesticates international laws without hesitation, including "private internati laws" as part of the Nepali legal system.
I enjoyed reading 'Private International Law: Principles and Nepali Legal Sys authored by Advocate Prem Chandra Rai - a lawyer, a legal scholar and a human r activist. In Nepali legal history, this is the first ever and only book on pe international law that also introduces the Nepali legal system, which has filled a la apparently perceived by the whole judicial community. As this textbook covers aspect of private international law, it will prove to be of immense value to the C the Ministry of Law and Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nepa Association, government attorneys, practicing lawyers, and to all those wh interested in this subject. The nation should be indebted to Mr. Rai for s wonderful book.
