Prentice Alvin

Alvin has returned to the town of his birth, Hatrack River, as the blacksmith's apprentice. He must discover how to be a Maker, and hopes that Peggy the Torch, who has magically protected him all his life, will help. The author's Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead won Hugo and Nebula awards.
