Her Mother’s Shadow follows the lives of the three main protagonists; Annie, Lacey and MacKenzie. Annie is a loving mother and wife whose generous nature hid a darker side that remained a secret for many years after her tragic death. When her daughter Lacey O’Neil finally learns the shattering truth about the mother she’s spent a decade emulating, the foundation of her life begins to crumble. Soon after discovering about her mother’s true past, Lacey’s childhood friend dies, leaving her teenage daughter MacKenzie in Lacey’s care, an arrangement neither of them are too happy about. As the tale progresses it soon becomes clear that the person who might understand ManKenzie best, might be the one person she resents the most: Lacey.
